Shake Russell, Dana Cooper, and Anni Clark

Two shows…April 22 &23, 2000
It’s great to welcome Shake Russell and Anni Clark back to the TNC stage, but this year we have the added pleasure of welcoming Dana Cooper as well.  Three great artists, each a show by themselves, will team up for the first time here at TNC for what promises to be a rare musical experience.  Shake has quietly and skillfully shaped Texas music for decades.  Known for his rolling melodies, poignant lyrics, unique guitar stylings, and restrained smile, Shake is a worthy source of Texas pride.  Throw Dana Cooper into the mix, as frequently happens, and you get the spice and heat to make things cook.  Dana brings an energetic punch to folk music that translates to pure joy in his live performances.  Stir in the beauty of our own Snow Queen from Maine, Anni Clark, and you get the haunting contrast seldom experienced from one stage.  Anni’s range and versatility are outshined only by her spirit forcing us to humbly admit that not ALL great music comes from Texas (But, Texas wants her anyway).  Shake, Dana, and Anni…Folks, it just doesn’t get any better than this!

Shake, Dana, and Anni have graciously agreed to do this show as the Texas Nights House Concerts Benefit.  Our original concept for TNHC was to just do a few small acoustic shows with some friends on the deck.  Over the past year and a half, as the shows got bigger, we had to add lighting and a sound system to do things right.  By allowing us to keep a portion of the proceeds from these two shows, Shake, Dana, and Anni will help us cover some of the unexpected expense we’ve incurred to give TNHC the quality as a venue worthy of the artists that come to perform here.  Your donations will not only get you a fantastic show, but this time will also help support TNHC and ensure we get bigger and better in the future.  And, after all, it’s all for the love of the song.

The first show, Saturday, April 22nd, will be done in the clubhouse of the Windsor Court Racquet Club here in Friendswood.  Some good friends, and avid supporters of TNHC, Jim and Beverly Noble and Gary and Jeri Ann Ashorn, at Digital Memories Production Services, have rented and donated the room for this show.  This will be a beautiful setting for live music, and it’s indoors for a change.  The clubhouse has a kitchen and bar, so food and drinks will be on sale…don’t bring your own.  Then on Easter Sunday, April 23rd, we’ll do it all again back on the deck as usual.  Bring a dish to share, whatever you want to drink, and lawn chairs if you have them.  It will be an early evening show, and a perfect way to top off Easter weekend.  Each of these shows will be a very different type of musical experience.  We highly recommend coming to both.

April 22…Windsor Racquet Club, Doors open 7:00 p.m.
April 23……On the deck as usual, Doors open 4:00 p.m.

For the love of the song
