Michael Veitch & Ray Younkin

November 13, 1999
Texas Nights House Concerts is turning the corner with one full year of concerts on the deck. What better way to celebrate our first anniversary than by showcasing two wonderful artists for one great songwriters’ night…this is what TNHC is all about! We are constantly on the lookout for singer/songwriters that bring something special to a live performance. Michael Veitch and Ray Younkin are two of our favorite finds this year, and we proudly present them together to our friends.

Michael Veitch hales from New York, but makes regular swings through Texas performing for a growing base of fans. His CD, “NY Journal”, is a remarkable collection of thought provoking songs with a sound reminiscent of Ellis Paul. Backup vocals by Shawn Colvin and Susan Werner are testament to the quality of Michael’s work. A somewhat quiet and reserved musician, Michael Veitch has a powerful message delivered with a reverent style that draws you through the visions of his mind.

Ray Younkin is no stranger to the TNHC deck, having opened here twice last June. Our guests were duly impressed with Ray’s unique style and delivery drawn from love, loss, hope, and sorrow. His debut CD, “1000 Years”, is a telling collection of life’s impressions on this wistful songsmith. Ray is from Houston and can be seen performing at many venues around town such as Anderson Fair and Mucky Duck, but his visits to the deck are always a special treat.

Michael Veitch and Ray Younkin will continue the TNHC tradition of outstanding live music performances as we begin our second year, rapidly approaching our Y2K season. Come help us celebrate this milestone of our musical journey under the Texas stars.

For the love of the song,
Barney & Beverly
